Korean spa culture arrived in Dubai on the back of the global K-beauty wave, and its signature treatment is unlike anything else in the city: the Korean body scrub, or seshin. After a long soak or steam to soften the skin, the therapist scrubs the entire body with textured mitts — considerably more thorough than a Moroccan kessa — sloughing off an honestly surprising amount of dead skin and leaving you polished from neck to toe. Devotees book it monthly and swear nothing else comes close.
The other half of the category is the K-beauty facial: multi-step treatments built on double cleansing, exfoliation, serums, and the signature glass skin finish — intensely hydrated, luminous and smooth. Some venues add jjimjilbang-inspired elements such as heated rooms and cooling rest areas, echoing Korea's beloved bathhouse tradition.
Korean spas in Dubai are still a small, premium niche, found mainly around Business Bay, Downtown and hotel spas. Expect AED 250 to 500 per treatment depending on length and add-ons. Because the scrub requires a private wet room, slots are limited — message ahead on WhatsApp rather than walking in, and ask whether facial-plus-scrub packages are available; combining both in one visit is the classic way to do it.
